Lakeland Leadership Camp 2017

The Power of One.

One Passion, one purpose and one goal can drive an athlete, coach, or team to be their very best.

The Impact of One

One player, one play, and one game-changing moment can transform the course of competition and bring victory.

Everything comes down to One.

There is power in One Gospel. There is power in One Truth. There is power in our One Great God who transforms hearts and brings victory in our lives.  As Christian athletes, when we stand together with one passion, one power, and one purpose there is great impact.

Make plans now to join us at Lakeland Leadership Camp 2017 on the campus of Southeastern University- July 10-14. Online Registration Opens March 1!

Movie Night

Movie Night in DeSoto County

FCA staff had the opportunity to minister to the DeSoto High School Track team recently. After a long hot practice they were treated to Gatorade, Granola bars, and encouragement from God's Word.

The following evening FCA, in partnership with Calvary Baptist Church, hosted the team for a movie night. The athletes enjoyed snacks and watched McFarland, USA. At the close of the evening, staff member, Isaac Maldonado shared his testimony. Praise God that 10 students received Christ as their Savior that evening.

McKeel Worship Night 2

McKeel Academy FCA Worship Night

Student Leaders involved in the FCA Huddle at McKeel Academy sponsored a Worship Night on their campus March 3rd. Nearly 60 adults and students lifted up their voices in praise to God as  Zero Gravity, the youth band from Bethel Baptist Church led them in worship. Pastor Mark Hylton from Victory Assembly shared an encouraging word. Thank you to everyone who made this evening possible, we hope this is just the first of many!

New Huddle Kicks Off!

Heartland FCA launched a new campus huddle in early 2017. 94 students attended the first huddle at Clewiston Middle School in Clewiston, FL. There were also 14 teachers and coaches who joined in the fun. We are thankful for Gatlin Burton who serves as the FCA Campus Coach for this school, and for Huddle Sponsor, Mrs. Aurora Perara.

Looking forward to amazing things as the Gospel touches the lives of these students!

A Day On the Greens gets Kids to Camp!

We are just a few short months away from the FCA Camp Season. That means hundreds of students, athletes and coaches getting the opportunity to hear the Gospel and grow in their faith over the summer.

Our annual "Spring Fling" Golf Tournament raises scholarships dollars that make it possible for deserving kids to attend camp.

We want to invite you to come out and enjoy a great day on the greens! Click Here to learn more about how you can participate!

Community Huddle 2

Impacting the Community

Community Sports Leagues can also be a place where the Gospel is shared with coaches and athletes.

Recently, FCA Area Representative, Isaac Maldonado had the privilege of speaking to young men from Hardee and Ft. Meade High Schools who were participating in a community football league. Our prayer is that they will come to know Christ as the Savior and take the Good News back to their campuses. We are thankful for coaches like Jermaine King and Donald White who desire to have an eternal impact on their players. Pray that their influence for Christ will bring much fruit.

Kathleen High School Spring Sports Breakfast

Athletes at Kathleen High School were treated to breakfast and invited to participate their athletic prowess at different stations where they could earn tickets that they could redeem for prizes.

The theme of redemption continued as Pastor Justin Barnett from Trinity Life Church shared with the students how their debt of sin has been completely paid for by the death of Christ.

Thank you to Justin and Danielle Barnett for serving this campus! Thank you to Coach Anthony Troutman for serving as Huddle Sponsor for Kathleen High School!

Palm

Coaching for Christ

First year teacher and coach Meagan Palm has a heart to see her students and athletes come to know Christ.

Meagan attended Houghton College where she played on the Women's Volleyball Team. In her freshman year she knew that coaching was definitely something she wanted to do.

"As a coach I can not only help my athletes improve on the court, I also have the opportunity to help them improve as young women."

Using the FCA Core Values of Integrity, Serving, Excellence, and Teamwork, Meagan can have meaningful conversations with her team. She can show a concern for them that goes beyond wins and losses.

Meagan would be the first to admit that she has a lot to learn both as a teacher and a coach, but she knows that God has placed her where she is for a purpose.

We praise God for Coach Palm and look forward to the fruit that her ministry with FCA will have on the campus where she serves Christ.

Winter Recharge 2016

"This camp exposed, and allowed God to break, chains that I did not even know I had in my life."  Winter Recharge Camper

Winter Recharge was held December 16-18 at the Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center in Sebring, Florida. This special retreat weekend serves as a spiritual "mid-year check up" for FCA student leaders.

We are excited to share that 82 students participated this year. They experienced powerful worship and teaching along with breakout sessons dealing with issues on leadership. There was also lots of time for outside activities like "Human Foosball"!

We anticipate many of these students returning for more leadership training next summer @ Lakeland Leadership Camp 2017 July 10-14 in Lakeland, Florida. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead!
