WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA FCA IMPACT

ENGAGE

We ENGAGE relationally with others in a variety of environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives, and sharing the Gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are at on their spiritual journey.

EQUIP

After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to EQUIP them with Christ-centered training, tools, and ongoing support. We desire to Equip them with God’s Word so they can grow in Christ and help others know and grow in Him.

Empower

Once equipped, we EMPOWER coaches and athletes to help others experience salvation in Jesus, grow in their faith, and share Him with others. We desire to Engage, Equip, and Empower coaches and athletes to make disciples who do the same to others.

FCA ENVIRONMENTS

For almost seven decades, FCA has had a vibrant ministry on school campuses but the landscape of sports is changing. Today, most young athletes play off-campus sports through clubs and leagues. Sports and athletic programs have grown to include coaches and athletes who compete outdoors, and those whose playing field involves not only lanes and courts but dirt hills and waves. Athletes in record numbers now participate in non-traditional sports that compete outside of the traditional campus setting. To remain present, relevant and impactful for the next 70 years, FCA recently organized sport ministry into eight sport environments.

Action

Action sports are known for their individuality and risk-taking. They include BMX, kitesurfing, mountain biking, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing and wakeboarding.

All Ability

All Ability refers to coaches and athletes who compete with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. “All ability” means the inclusion of all categories within the disability community.

Campus

Campus sports take place in public, private, charter, boarding, and college preparatory schools through elementary, middle, high school + college.

Club

Off-campus sports for coaches + athletes who aspire to reach expert levels. In a typical club experience, athletes invest in multiple practices per week and travel to compete with teams from other clubs.
